Responsibilities
- Design high-performance operator interfaces for real-time drone control, video streaming, and mission management.
- Collaborate with autonomy, firmware, cloud, and product teams to translate complex capabilities into reliable user experiences.
- Build features spanning C++ autonomy engines, Android application layers, cloud services, JNI/NDK native libraries, and Kotlin UI.
- Use AI-powered agentic workflows for automated testing, code generation, and intelligent developer tooling.
- Own end-to-end product outcomes with attention to operator needs, hardware, cloud services, reliability, performance, and usability.
- Mentor engineers and improve software quality, system design, and user-centered product development.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of professional software engineering experience with substantial C++ and Android work.
- Deep production experience with Android NDK and JNI, including building and debugging native libraries.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and the modern Android ecosystem, including Coroutines, Jetpack/Architecture Components, and Gradle.
- Experience with graphics APIs such as Vulkan, OpenGL ES, or Metal.
- Strong debugging and profiling skills across native and managed code, including ASan, Perfetto, and Android Studio profilers.
- Experience with low-latency network communication using UDP, WebRTC, or custom protocols.
- Track record of shipping mobile applications integrating with hardware, IoT devices, or robots.
- Proficiency in Linux development environments.
- Preferred experience includes Bazel, AOSP or Android platform/framework development, video codecs such as H.264/H.265, camera pipelines, or real-time media processing.
