Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of platform services using Java, AWS, Redis, and Kafka.
- Design and implement scalable, resilient, distributed, event-driven microservices and APIs.
- Own platform capabilities across architecture, engineering practices, deployment, software quality, production support, and operational excellence.
- Lead complex technical initiatives from requirements clarification through execution and delivery.
- Drive technical alignment across engineering teams, architects, Product Management, and Platform Engineering.
- Lead production incident response, root cause analysis, issue resolution, and systemic improvements.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Influence engineering direction and establish standards that improve reliability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong expertise in backend development and distributed systems.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, AWS, Redis, and Docker.
- Experience designing and developing scalable, highly available distributed platforms and microservices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional technical initiatives across multiple engineering teams.
- Experience with large-scale event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar messaging technologies.
- Familiarity with observability, monitoring, incident management, production reliability, and cloud-native applications.
- Experience leading architectural reviews, defining engineering standards, optimizing distributed systems, mentoring senior engineers, and influencing technical direction.
- Strong technical leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, mentoring, and architectural decision-making skills.
