Base Salary
$163k - $264k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of large or ambiguous end-to-end initiatives across frontend and backend systems.
- Build customer-facing product experiences with TypeScript and React and backend services with Go, Python, or comparable technologies.
- Translate customer problems and product goals into technical designs, tradeoffs, and incremental delivery plans.
- Own systems and experiences from discovery and design through implementation, launch, measurement, operational support, and iteration.
- Partner with Product, Design, Data, and engineering leaders to balance usability, accessibility, performance, reliability, security, cost, and time to value.
- Improve consistency, maintainability, developer experience, observability, operational health, and quality across the product.
- Influence architecture and technical direction through design documents, code reviews, and technical discussions.
- Mentor engineers and help teammates improve technical judgment, product instincts, and end-to-end delivery skills.
- Participate in incident response and represent customer needs and production realities in cross-functional decisions.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience building and operating production web applications with meaningful customer or business impact.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects across frontend and backend layers, including ambiguous requirements and cross-team dependencies.
- Strong experience with React and TypeScript or equivalent experience.
- Strong backend experience designing or operating APIs, services, data stores, or asynchronous systems in production.
- Experience with Go, Python, Rust, or an equivalent backend language; most LaunchDarkly teams use Go.
- Sound judgment across architecture, user experience, accessibility, performance, reliability, security, and maintainability tradeoffs.
- Strong product instincts and ability to connect technical decisions to customer and business outcomes.
- Ability to create alignment through clear communication and inclusive decision-making.
- Experience mentoring engineers, improving team practices, and raising technical execution quality.
- Strong ownership of the full lifecycle of systems and product experiences, with comfort learning unfamiliar systems and adapting to changing priorities.
Benefits
- Target base pay ranges by US geographic zone are $163,000-$224,070, $172,600-$237,270, or $191,800-$263,670 depending on location.
- Restricted Stock Units, health insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, and mental health benefits are provided in addition to salary.
- The role is based in the United States with compensation determined by geographic pay zone.
