Responsibilities
- Design and implement WebGL-based 3D visualizations for autonomous vehicle coordination and mission planning.
- Build Deck.gl-based data visualization systems for millions of sensor points, telemetry streams, and geospatial data.
- Create gaming-inspired interactions such as RTS-style vehicle selection, minimaps, context-sensitive controls, and asset tracking.
- Optimize browser rendering and responsiveness for continuous sensor, video, and telemetry streams.
- Implement WebAssembly modules and custom WebGL shaders for performance-critical processing and specialized visualization.
- Develop interactive 2D/3D maps with real-time overlays for mission planning, routes, and operational areas.
- Build responsive, touch-capable interfaces for desktop and tablet field deployments.
- Transform autonomous-system telemetry into actionable operator displays and mission insights.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to optimize streaming protocols and reduce command-and-control latency.
- Use comprehensive testing frameworks and automated performance monitoring to ensure reliability.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional frontend development experience focused on data visualization and high-performance web applications.
- Expert proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
- Strong experience with WebGL, Three.js or Babylon.js, 3D graphics, and GPU-based rendering optimization.
- Proficiency with Deck.gl or comparable large-scale data visualization frameworks.
- Experience building real-time data streaming and WebSocket-based applications.
- Knowledge of WebAssembly integration, 3D mathematics, coordinate systems, and geospatial transformations.
- Experience with canvas rendering, animation systems, browser performance optimization, and modern build and deployment tools.
- Preferred qualifications include gaming UI or game-engine frontend experience with Unity or Unreal Engine, defense visualization, Mapbox GL, Cesium, Leaflet, computer graphics, shader development, ROS2, touch interfaces, and mission-critical systems.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a security clearance are required; applicants must also meet applicable U.S. export-control eligibility requirements.
