Base Salary
$160k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build Starship security infrastructure, including authentication and encryption protocols, identity management, secure boot, code hardening, application security, and network security services.
- Use specialized security hardware such as hardware security modules and cryptographic accelerators.
- Own software design, testing, and integration into the Starship mission.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and maintain launch and vehicle software for the pad, ship, and booster.
- Define and lead impactful Starship software projects and improve software standards and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a science discipline plus 4+ years of software development experience, or 6+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree.
- 4+ years of experience with C++, Python, or Rust.
- Proven knowledge of C++, Rust, or another systems programming language.
- Experience with real-time embedded systems or distributed computing systems and contributing security improvements to complex systems.
- Experience with cryptographic accelerators or hardware security modules, fault-tolerant software, debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of computer architecture and networking, with the ability to work independently, take initiative, collaborate, and communicate effectively.
- Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.
