Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain analytics event tracking in iPhone and iPad apps using iOS best practices and platform guidelines.
- Translate event specifications into iOS instrumentation that conforms to agreed schemas, naming conventions, and data contracts.
- Collaborate with product managers, analysts, data engineers, and other iOS teams across an inner source model.
- Review pull requests and help teams validate analytics events.
- Investigate and permanently resolve data-quality issues, including platform discrepancies and missing or incorrectly populated properties.
- Support iOS experimentation through Optimizely SDK integration, exposure and variant events, and operational monitoring.
- Improve code quality, maintainability, testing, and test coverage so tracking changes ship safely.
Requirements
- Experience building iOS applications using Swift and core iOS frameworks.
- Experience integrating third-party SDKs into production iOS applications.
- Experience with analytics, experimentation, or similar tools such as Mixpanel or Optimizely, or strong willingness to learn them.
- Understanding of how mobile events are batched, queued, and flushed, including trade-offs involving data completeness, battery usage, and network performance.
- Knowledge of common software design patterns and architecture concepts.
- Interest in designing consistent, maintainable instrumentation that other teams can adopt.
- Awareness of privacy and consent requirements for customer tracking on mobile.
- Comfort debugging data and code problems by inspecting payloads, comparing expected output, and collaborating with analysts.
- Familiarity with unit testing and experience with UI automation tools.
- SQL or Databricks familiarity is a bonus, not a requirement.
