Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex enterprise-scale applications across front-end, back-end, integration, and data layers.
- Define engineering standards, coding practices, architectural principles, technology choices, and implementation approaches.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support APIs, microservices, event-driven solutions, and cloud-native applications.
- Ensure operational stability through observability, monitoring, performance tuning, production support, and resilient solution design.
- Participate in PI Planning, Sprint Planning, reviews, retrospectives, backlog refinement, estimation, and delivery execution.
- Champion DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, Infrastructure as Code, software quality, security, and engineering metrics.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders, communicate technical solutions and risks, and contribute to governance and design reviews.
- Mentor engineers, provide technical coaching, and promote innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Manage or guide engineering teams, including resource planning, risk management, performance feedback, and professional development.
Requirements
- Extensive full-stack software engineering experience in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong back-end development experience with Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
- Experience designing and building REST APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL database technologies, including Oracle and Mongo.
- Experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes, GitLab, JIRA, SonarQube, Prisma, Wiz, and Maven or Gradle.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, automated testing, and software quality engineering.
- Experience with Kafka and message queues or other event-streaming technologies.
- Experience with rapid application development using AI models such as Claude.
- A Computer Science degree or equivalent understanding of computer science, object-oriented design, and data structures.
- Experience with distributed systems, high-volume transaction processing, real-time integration platforms, Docker, and Kubernetes is valued.
- Corporate banking or payments technology experience is valued.
- Ability to demonstrate risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and role-specific technical skills.
