Base Salary
$107k - $160k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain optimization and machine learning applications and backend software using Python.
- Manage code with Git and orchestrate containers with Kubernetes across AWS and cloud-agnostic environments.
- Query relational databases and use Snowflake, Databricks, and big-data tools to optimize and troubleshoot infrastructure-level data services.
- Design and deploy infrastructure with Terraform and build CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, Kargo, and ArgoCD.
- Monitor service health with Prometheus and Grafana and support application updates, releases, testing, and integrations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, software engineers, data scientists, product managers, and QA to define requirements and meet technical specifications.
- Document software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal reports.
- Guide and mentor junior-level engineers and work variable schedules, including nights and weekends when necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, with consideration for coursework and experience or extensive related professional experience.
- 0–2 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in Python for software development, data processing, and machine learning applications.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and computational problem-solving.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Preferred experience with SQL, relational databases, big-data technologies, distributed computing, Kubernetes, machine learning algorithms, model development, Apache Spark, data science, statistics, and analytical techniques.
