Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain IBM iSeries/AS400 applications using RPG III/IV/ILE, RPG Free, CL, and COBOL.
- Design, query, and optimize DB2/400 databases, including data modeling, SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues within SLA timelines.
- Develop and support integrations using APIs, web services, MQ, and file transfers.
- Participate in requirements gathering, coding, testing, deployment, code reviews, documentation, and release management.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA, project managers, and onsite/offshore teams while following client standards, security policies, and industry regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience is required; the posting specifies 5–8+ years of hands-on IBM AS400 development experience.
- Strong expertise in RPG III, RPG IV, RPG ILE, free-format RPG, CL, and COBOL on AS400 is required.
- Proficiency in DB2/400 database design, queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization is required.
- Knowledge of APIs, web services, MQ, and file-transfer integration techniques is required.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills are required.
- Experience with requirements gathering, coding, testing, deployment, and other SDLC processes is required.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
- Good communication and collaboration skills with onsite/offshore teams are required.
