Base Salary

$186k - $280k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and evolution of scalable, reliable, high-performance distributed systems.
  • Drive cross-domain architectural discussions and contribute to the long-term technical roadmap.
  • Integrate machine learning and GenAI technologies into current and future products.
  • Evaluate emerging AI infrastructure and development practices and advocate for valuable adoption.
  • Build, maintain, test, and review high-performance, reliable, secure, and maintainable software.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and system reliability issues.
  • Build tools and frameworks that enable faster and safer delivery by other engineers.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders across global teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers at all levels.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, mentorship, and engineering excellence.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience delivering production systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical direction and architecture.
  • Expertise in backend development with two or more server-side languages such as PHP, Go, Scala, Java, Python, or Ruby.
  • Proven experience architecting, building, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of consensus, consistency, fault tolerance, and other distributed systems concepts.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP and microservices architecture.
  • Solid experience with SQL, in-memory storage, and other data storage solutions.
  • Experience operating and monitoring production services, including observability tooling.
  • Strong grasp of software design principles, testing strategies, and modern development practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and technical decision-making skills.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership and mentorship.
  • Preferred: experience building product solutions with LLMs and GenAI technologies.
  • Preferred: familiarity with vector databases, model orchestration tools, inference frameworks, and cloud-native ML workflows.
  • Preferred: experience with SaaS or multi-tenant platforms operating at significant scale.
