Responsibilities
- Design and build computer-use agents that combine AI reasoning with deterministic execution for reliable enterprise workflows.
- Develop agent recovery, verification, workflow state management, failure handling, and secure access capabilities.
- Build backend services, evaluations, and diagnostics that measure task success and expose regressions.
- Work directly with customers to understand workflows, prototype solutions, investigate failures, and validate results in customer environments.
- Turn customer findings into reusable product capabilities and help move workflows toward repeatable, self-service adoption.
- Lead architectural decisions across agent execution, backend services, and workflow state.
- Evaluate model selection, tool use, and context management for reliability, latency, and cost.
- Provide hands-on implementation, design reviews, mentoring, broader technical ownership, and hiring participation.
Requirements
- Experience leading the architecture and delivery of complex backend systems through deployment, production failures, and subsequent improvements across multiple components or teams.
- Hands-on experience shipping and operating LLM-powered systems, including using evaluations and production failures to inform design decisions.
- Ability to reason about concurrency, persistent state, retries, and partial failures in systems performing consequential actions.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Ability to turn ambiguous customer problems into bounded technical approaches, test them with users, and lead solutions through production.
- Willingness to engage directly with customers on technical problems and tradeoffs.
- Helpful experience includes agent tool use, code generation, automated recovery, evaluation frameworks, browser automation, workflow orchestration, enterprise integrations, early-stage products, or customer-facing engineering.

- The role is offered with a base salary range of $172,500–$313,700 annually, or $207,800–$344,700 annually in select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan-area locations, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.
