Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable services and experiences for personalized learning, coaching, and associate development.
- Build generative-AI-powered coaching capabilities that understand context, generate relevant guidance, and adapt to individual needs.
- Develop systems connecting associate capability and performance signals to appropriate development interventions.
- Create closed-loop measurement systems that use learning and coaching outcomes to improve future recommendations.
- Translate emerging models and experimentation into reliable production systems with Product and Science partners.
- Make foundational architecture and technology decisions for a greenfield product space.
- Design APIs, data models, and integration patterns across Customer Service systems.
- Build experimentation, measurement, and observability mechanisms to evaluate associate and customer outcomes.
- Deliver secure, reliable, globally scalable systems and maintain operational excellence.
- Mentor engineers and establish engineering standards and technical direction.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- At least 5 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
- Preferred: 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems or customer-facing platforms.
- Preferred: experience building applications using machine learning, generative AI, large language models, recommendation systems, or personalization.
- Preferred: experience taking ambiguous or zero-to-one technical problems from concept through production.
- Preferred: experience integrating data and capabilities across multiple services and organizational boundaries.
- Preferred: experience with experimentation, measurement, and data-driven product development.
- Preferred: demonstrated technical leadership and ability to influence architecture beyond an individual component.
