Base Salary
$160k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services for Kharon's client-facing application.
- Develop and release APIs and features across the full software development lifecycle.
- Investigate logs, reproduce issues, troubleshoot bugs, and deliver targeted fixes.
- Write automated unit and integration tests and respond to QA feedback.
- Collaborate with product owners, frontend engineers, QA, architects, and non-engineering stakeholders.
- Contribute to GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes deployments, and AWS infrastructure.
- Participate in two-week sprints and support production hotfixes and major feature releases.
- Support and mentor mid-level engineers over time.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend-focused software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in at least one JVM language, with Java or Kotlin strongly preferred.
- Spring Boot and/or Micronaut experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture, service boundaries, and downstream dependencies.
- Experience with Vue.js or willingness to contribute to a Vue-based frontend.
- Understanding of relational and graph databases, with PostgreSQL and/or Neo4j experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of AWS fundamentals and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD workflows, preferably GitHub Actions.
- Ability to write unit and integration tests and respond to QA feedback.
- Strong communication and requirements clarification skills.
- Comfort using AI coding tools while reviewing and owning shipped code.
- Fintech, risk, sanctions, or financial crime compliance experience is a bonus.
