Base Salary
$140k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Java and related frameworks.
- Architect and implement microservices handling high-volume traffic and complex business logic.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in distributed systems.
- Contribute to technical architecture and system-design decisions.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for backend services.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of backend software development experience using Java.
- 3+ years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- 2+ years of experience leading projects and providing technical leadership.
- Strong expertise with Java frameworks and technologies, including Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Maven or Gradle.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs and using microservices architecture.
- Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Preferred: backend development experience with Node.js.
- Preferred: experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure; Docker and Kubernetes; CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices; and Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Preferred: experience with performance optimization and scalability, plus knowledge of software design patterns and clean-code principles.
