Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, monitor, and support backend services in Go and Python.
- Build and evolve production LLM-based agents with tool calling, MCP integrations, structured output, conversation state, and code-based guardrails.
- Develop internal web applications in React and TypeScript, from administrative pages to complex interactive interfaces.
- Design data models and APIs for configuration-heavy products, emphasizing consistency, history, and safe changes.
- Integrate synchronous HTTP, gRPC, and GraphQL services with asynchronous Kafka-based systems.
- Build end-to-end observability using metrics, logs, dashboards, tracing, alerting, and runbooks.
- Participate in technical research, system design, code reviews, design reviews, mentoring, and on-call operations.
- Review AI-generated code to the same standards as human-written changes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience with production work on both backend and frontend systems.
- Strong production experience with Go, including its advanced features.
- Strong Python service-development experience, including asynchronous programming, typing, testing, and a modern web framework such as FastAPI.
- Hands-on experience building and running AI agents in production.
- Strong TypeScript and React experience building and maintaining non-trivial web applications.
- Strong SQL skills covering schema design, indexes, query optimisation, and migrations, plus experience with Redis or similar key-value stores.
- Experience with HTTP, gRPC, GraphQL, and Kafka service communication with a focus on reliability.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or GCP core services, and cloud compute, storage, networking, and IAM.
- Experience designing and operating observability systems using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
- Experience with Git workflows, code review, Linux command-line usage, networking basics, and AI coding agents.
- Ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to data scientists, product owners, and on-call engineers.
