Responsibilities
- Architect and ship gateway and CDN features such as plugin-driven routing, smart cache policies, and dynamic purge APIs.
- Build libraries and pipelines for rate limits, WAF and filter rules, and bot detection within the edge stack.
- Create CLI tools, plugins, and lightweight frameworks for API registration, policy enforcement, and traffic-insight previews.
- Analyze metrics, identify latency and failover gaps, and implement code-level optimizations for reliability and performance.
- Partner with product, platform, and security teams to translate requirements into maintainable software.
- Own end-to-end features deployed for millions of requests per day.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of backend development experience building large-scale, high-throughput services.
- Proficiency in one or more languages such as Java, Go, Python, or similar.
- Strong software-design and system-thinking skills.
- At least 3 years of preferred experience designing and operating distributed, low-latency systems or developing security-focused software.
- Ability to identify performance or reliability bottlenecks and deliver targeted code-level improvements.
- Ability to collaborate across product, platform, and security teams and explain complex ideas clearly.
- Ability to take ownership, work in a fast-paced environment, and iterate based on feedback.
