Responsibilities
- Build features for the Cards API and platform issuance products, including capabilities related to onboarding, liquidity, fraud prevention, and card analytics.
- Design and build resilient, scalable microservices, event-driven systems, relational databases, and APIs.
- Own impactful projects end to end, including problem discovery, solution design, delivery, rollout, measurement, and roadmap planning.
- Maintain well-tested and maintainable software with effective observability, predictable delivery, and proactive technical debt management.
- Own technical roadmaps and deliverables while collaborating with PMs, analysts, and engineers.
- Be accountable for the availability, reliability, and security of systems built by the team.
- Create simple, well-documented APIs that provide a strong partner experience.
Requirements
- Strong experience building microservices, event-driven architectures, relational databases, and well-designed APIs.
- Ability to design and build resilient and scalable systems.
- Commitment to maintainable, well-tested software, effective observability, predictable delivery, and proactive technical debt management.
- Strong product mindset and ability to connect engineering decisions to customer outcomes.
- Experience taking end-to-end ownership of impactful technical projects.
- Self-starting, collaborative communication style with the ability to work independently and translate complex technical concepts for varied audiences.
- Preferred experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka.
- Preferred experience building a finance API.
- Preferred experience in the card payments domain as an issuer or acquirer.
