Responsibilities
- Build features for the Cards API addressing partner onboarding, liquidity optimization, fraud prevention, and card analytics.
- Design and develop resilient and scalable systems using microservices, event-driven architectures, relational databases, and APIs.
- Own projects end to end from problem discovery and solution shaping through delivery, rollout, measurement, and roadmap planning.
- Ensure systems are available, reliable, secure, observable, maintainable, and well tested.
- Own the technical roadmap and project deliverables while collaborating with product managers, analysts, and engineers.
- Improve partner experience through simple, well-documented APIs and connect engineering decisions to customer outcomes.
Requirements
- Strong experience building microservices, event-driven architectures, relational databases, and well-designed APIs.
- Ability to design and build resilient and scalable systems.
- Commitment to maintainable, well-tested software, predictable delivery, effective observability, and proactive technical debt management.
- Strong product mindset with a focus on partner experience and customer outcomes.
- Experience taking impactful projects from problem definition through delivery, rollout, measurement, and future planning.
- Accountability for the availability, reliability, and security of systems built by the engineer and team.
- Self-starting, collaborative, and independent approach with strong initiative and ownership.
- Clear and adaptable communication across technical and cross-functional audiences.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, or Kafka is desirable.
- Experience building a finance API or working in the card payments domain as an issuer or acquirer is desirable.
