Responsibilities

Design, implement, scale, and maintain backend systems that process large volumes of data.
Build event-driven and API-based integrations and contribute to migration toward a domain-based, scalable architecture.
Develop and optimize software for performance-sensitive, high-throughput, low-latency production workflows.
Investigate technical problems, propose solutions, and collaborate with engineering and data science colleagues.
Influence and mentor junior and mid-level engineers while working autonomously across three teams.
Deliver timely, high-quality work in a collaborative development model.

10+ years of backend software engineering experience with strong technical depth.
Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, Big O notation, and event-driven architecture.
Experience with heavy data processing tools and technologies including Spark, Apache ecosystem tools, Delta Lake, Parquet, Kafka, and Avro.
Experience with Python and/or PySpark and with complex, real-time, high-volume systems.
Experience with Docker, SQL, NoSQL databases, REST APIs, and event-driven integrations.
Ability to work in performance-oriented, production-critical environments with high throughput and low latency.
Strong problem-solving, communication, proactive collaboration, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
Computer science, computer engineering, or a related academic background is preferred.
Nice-to-have experience includes AWS or GCP, Pandas, Spring, microservices, and large-scale data or analytics environments.
