Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and support technology solutions for strategic business initiatives.
- Build and operate production microservices using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
- Translate business and technical requirements into deliverable plans and provide effort estimates.
- Diagnose and resolve defects with robust fixes that reduce repeat incidents.
- Collaborate across requirements analysis, development, testing, and production rollout.
- Improve tooling, performance, delivery efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
- Support the Solution Architect in aligning solutions with approved architectures and systems.
- Provide production ownership and stakeholder collaboration in a globally distributed, matrixed environment.
- Lead and coach small-to-mid-sized teams while supporting delivery execution and capability development.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in IT delivery or software engineering.
- Strong Java 8 fundamentals, including collections and multithreading/concurrency.
- Enterprise backend engineering experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, deploying, and supporting production microservices.
- Experience with Oracle and MSSQL, including SQL performance, data modeling, and Java-service integration.
- Familiarity with REST, MQ, and Solace messaging middleware.
- Experience building low-latency, highly available, distributed systems and data-grid solutions.
- Proficiency with Eclipse or IntelliJ, Git, Jira, Maven, Jenkins, and Ansible.
- Strong practical experience with Agile and DevOps delivery practices.
- Proven experience leading and coaching small-to-mid-sized teams.
- Experience with implementations and production support in global matrix environments.
- Strong communication, ownership, analytical problem-solving, and risk and quality management skills.
