Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage isolated, secure, reusable lab environments across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructure.
- Create multi-component environments containing controllers, agents, databases, and endpoint systems that represent production scenarios.
- Automate provisioning and manage infrastructure using Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation, Packer, Ansible, and Git-based workflows.
- Configure and troubleshoot virtual networks, subnets, routing, load balancers, NAT gateways, VPNs, firewalls, proxies, and segmented or multi-region environments.
- Support integrations involving REST and GraphQL APIs, webhooks, Kafka, Event Hub, MQTT, OAuth2, API keys, certificates, retries, and rate limits.
- Build mock services and simulators for vendor dependencies and enable testing of SaaS, VM-based, and containerized deployment models.
- Implement logging, monitoring, tracing, traffic inspection, API tracing, and log correlation to diagnose integration and environment issues.
- Maintain secure configurations involving credential and secrets management, network isolation, access control, and internal security and compliance policies.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and external vendors and create setup guides, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and troubleshooting documentation.
- Enable self-service lab usage for development teams and provide debugging support for integration workflows.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or similar roles.
- Hands-on Python scripting and Linux system administration, including shell scripting and automation of provisioning and configuration tasks.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for VM provisioning, Packer for VM templating, and Ansible for configuration management, including roles, modules, and playbooks.
- Practical experience deploying and managing workloads on at least two of VMware vSphere/ESXi, AWS, Azure, GCP, or Proxmox.
- Understanding of VM lifecycle management, networking, and snapshots.
- Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift is a plus.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs in programmatically provisioned platforms.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git/GitHub, pull requests, and peer review workflows.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills plus experience with monitoring and observability tooling.
- Preferred experience includes enterprise-scale VMware Horizon, App Volumes, or vSphere deployments in regulated or large-client environments.
- Security domain knowledge involving detection engineering, SOC workflows, attack scenarios, incident response, or threat-informed defence is valued.
- Experience with Windows Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Server infrastructure is a strong plus.
- Background in incident and change management practices and pre-production review processes is preferred.
- Cloud or virtualization certifications such as AWS SysOps, Terraform Associate, VCP, VCAP, or VCIX are preferred.
