Responsibilities
- Deliver new backend functionality and features using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Continuously improve the codebase while maintaining a strong focus on quality and customer outcomes.
- Contribute significantly to technical decisions and remove blockers, waste, and other delivery impediments.
- Coach and mentor less experienced engineers and collaborate through pair programming.
- Own the full development lifecycle from code to production, including deployment and monitoring.
- Support production systems and improve reliability across scalable backend services.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with C# and .NET and its latest features.
- Experience mentoring less experienced engineers and pair-programming with colleagues.
- Experience collaborating with frontend engineers and other disciplines on end-to-end features and cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience with identity and authentication systems such as IdentityServer, OpenID Connect, and OAuth2.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, TeamCity, or Spacelift.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS; Azure or GCP experience is also valuable.
- Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly with Terraform.
- Strong experience with observability, including logging, monitoring, and alerting, and familiarity with New Relic and the ELK Stack or equivalents.
- Experience supporting production systems and improving reliability.
- Strong experience building and operating microservices architectures, event-driven systems, and asynchronous messaging patterns.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and curiosity about AI and emerging tools.
