Base Salary
$129k - $174k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain quality software used by institutional investors, asset managers, custodian banks, and technology firms.
- Own critical processes and services that are highly available and scalable through design, development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Contribute to software design, architecture, technical breakdowns, product roadmaps, system documentation, and performance decisions.
- Test and validate code in development and production, including unit testing, automated system testing, testability, maintainability, and dependency impact.
- Troubleshoot systemic and technical problems, respond to customer issues, and propose solutions for scaling and performance challenges.
- Mentor and train entry-level and less experienced engineers inside and outside the division.
- Build scalable backend services, distributed software systems, data processing pipelines, and database-backed applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 7+ years of professional industry experience with Java, Python, or other industry-leading programming languages.
- Experience with object-oriented or functional programming languages, software development lifecycle practices, and Agile practices.
- Experience monitoring production systems and working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Cloud Pub/Sub, Kafka, or SQS/SNS.
- Experience with machine learning.
- Ability to build scalable backend services and work with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Preferred experience with distributed software systems, big data, and NoSQL technologies including Hadoop, Spark, DynamoDB, HBase, Hive, Cassandra, or Vertica.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, organizational, interpersonal, and technical design documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate in English, including speaking, reading, comprehension, and writing.
