Responsibilities
- Develop the core platform, runtime, and API abstractions that enable models to plan and execute actions across Apple apps and services.
- Design tool representations, model-facing language, orchestration systems, and multi-step agent capabilities.
- Build a fast, reliable execution layer across Apple devices while minimizing latency and inference cost.
- Embed safety, security, and privacy architecture into the platform.
- Design realistic evaluations, diagnose complex failure modes, and improve end-to-end assistant quality.
- Partner with application teams and developers to evolve platform capabilities using App Intents and real-world requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of industry experience.
- Strong programming skills in Swift, C++, Objective-C, or Python.
- Hands-on experience shipping production systems built around LLMs.
- Knowledge of agentic systems, including planning, orchestration, and multi-step tool use.
- Experience in prompt engineering, tool representation, tool retrieval, evaluation design, or improving model quality with data is preferred.
- Familiarity with App Intents or other Apple frameworks is preferred.
- Strong API design skills and experience building platforms for other developers are preferred.
- A master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field is preferred.
