Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs and microservices using Scala and Java with Spring.
  • Implement AWS data-processing and orchestration workflows using Glue, Batch, Step Functions, and Lambda, including Lambda functions written in Python.
  • Translate business requirements into clean, scalable, secure code and maintain existing systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, release, document, and maintain software.
  • Write and review unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and automate testing processes where possible.
  • Monitor code quality, use static analysis tools, address vulnerabilities, and drive DevSecOps practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers and provide technical expertise and code reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s-level or higher qualification in computer science or engineering, such as a B.Sc., MCA, or Bachelor of Technology.
  • 4–10 years of hands-on experience in a software developer role.
  • Experience building secure, mission-critical, high-volume web-based transaction systems in regulated environments such as finance or insurance.
  • Hands-on expertise with Scala, Java, Spring, AWS, microservices, serverless and data-processing solutions.
  • Experience with ScalaTest, JUnit, Mockito, unit testing, integration testing, BDD, and TDD.
  • Experience building REST, SOAP, or gRPC APIs and working with service-oriented or microservice architectures.
  • Experience with public-cloud deployment and management, databases, containers, Docker, Kubernetes, source control, and CI/CD practices.
  • Understanding of clean code, clean architecture, SOLID principles, design patterns, static code-quality analysis, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience working in an agile team using Scrum or Kanban.
  • Preferred experience with AWS certifications, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, Domain Driven Design, Event Driven Architecture, Kafka, EventBridge, Kinesis, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS Cloud Development Kit, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
  • Working knowledge of generative AI tools for coding is desirable.
