Responsibilities
- Build customer advocacy and senior stakeholder relationships in the public sector.
- Own customer strategic roadmaps and conduct quarterly strategic sessions.
- Design, develop, and integrate Elastic products and APIs in mission-critical environments.
- Develop platform architectures and perform capacity planning.
- Create demos and proof-of-concepts highlighting the Elastic Stack.
- Perform data modeling, query development and optimization, cluster tuning, and scaling.
- Solve complex customer data problems involving search and analytics at scale.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, support, and sales teams on customer goals and feature enhancements.
- Scope opportunities with sales while assessing technical risks, questions, and concerns.
Requirements
- Current or previous German security clearance is required.
- Fluency in German is essential.
- At least five years of experience working as a consultant delivering and executing professional services engagements.
- At least two years of experience as a software engineer, system administrator, or DevOps engineer.
- Hands-on experience with and understanding of Elasticsearch and/or Lucene.
- Experience presenting to large audiences on enterprise infrastructure software technology.
- Ability to gather, prioritize, plan, and execute solutions to customer business requirements.
- Knowledge of open-source technology and proficiency in at least one programming language.
- Hands-on experience with large distributed systems from architecture and development perspectives.
- Knowledge of information retrieval and/or analytics.
- Understanding of Linux, Java, and databases.
- Ability to work onsite with customers and travel frequently.
- A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline is a bonus.
- Elastic Certified Engineer certification, strong Java and Linux/Unix knowledge, product training experience, and open-source contributions are bonus qualifications.
