Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services integrating the robotics platform with customer systems.
- Develop and enhance backend infrastructure for the robot operations platform.
- Build backend components that aggregate KPIs and provide platform-performance and business-value insights.
- Contribute to backend architecture, reliability, and scalability in a containerized service environment.
- Build integrations, distributed workflows, event-driven applications, and scalable data-processing pipelines.
- Collaborate with frontend, robotics, and infrastructure engineers on end-to-end features.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support production-system reliability.
Requirements
- Approximately five years of professional experience designing, building, deploying, and operating backend systems in an SOA context.
- Strong experience with TypeScript, Java, C++, and/or Python.
- Experience with service decomposition, API design, RPC, publish/subscribe, and event-driven interaction patterns.
- Experience with at least two database technologies.
- Experience balancing consistency, availability, and performance.
- Production experience with at least five major services and one major cloud provider, with AWS strongly preferred.
- Experience integrating complex third-party APIs and building distributed workflows, or building event-driven applications and scalable data-processing pipelines.
- Business-oriented approach focused on solving concrete problems and delivering value.
- Strong ownership, communication, collaboration, and constructive-feedback skills.
- Preferred familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, robotics, IoT, fleet management, real-time data streaming, OTLP, Grafana, and Prometheus.
