Responsibilities
- Define performance, scalability, resilience, and chaos-testing strategies for services and platforms.
- Design and execute load, stress, endurance, failover, and controlled-failure experiments.
- Analyze latency, throughput, resource consumption, bottlenecks, and recovery behavior.
- Partner with engineering and operations teams on service-level objectives and production-readiness criteria.
- Automate performance and resilience tests and integrate them into delivery pipelines where practical.
- Document findings, prioritize risks, track remediation, and promote capacity-planning, observability, and failure-mode-validation practices.
- Guide less-experienced team members and own complex work from analysis through production support.
Requirements
- Experience with performance engineering and tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with Java, Dynatrace, and Java Microbenchmark Harness for profiling, observability, benchmarking, and performance analysis.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, messaging, databases, cloud platforms, and observability.
- Experience with resiliency patterns, failover, capacity analysis, and controlled chaos experiments.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working across the software development lifecycle and in Agile delivery environments.
- Experience applying AI-driven product validation to improve efficiency, coverage, and defect detection.
- Required hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering tools including GitHub Copilot and Claude CLI.
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Payments or financial-services domain knowledge is preferred.
