Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of real-time and on-demand risk enhancements for the credit business in partnership with trading, market risk, quantitative, and technology teams.
  • Own architecture, design, implementation, automated testing strategies, release execution, and ongoing production support across the development lifecycle.
  • Align real-time and on-demand workflows with end-of-day risk strategy, including functional parity, reconciliation, and controlled cutover.
  • Build out strategic risk-platform capabilities, including analytics, workflows, and risk-dataset integrations.
  • Improve performance through optimized risk calculation strategies and Java platform tuning.
  • Migrate compute workloads to AWS with a focus on scalability, throughput, resiliency, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with regional teams in a follow-the-sun model to improve delivery velocity and triage production incidents.
  • Provide user updates, demonstrations, documentation, and education to support adoption and rollout.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and drive long-term stability, monitoring, and observability improvements.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Core Java, J2EE, and the Spring Framework.
  • Exposure to Python scripting and data analysis.
  • Experience in capital markets front-office technology, including fixed-income products and front-office credit risk calculations.
  • Experience building highly scalable and distributed applications using microservices, APIs, and container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
  • Strong expertise with messaging technologies such as Kafka, JMS, or gRPC.
  • Proficiency in latency measurement, JVM tuning, and performance optimization of Java-based platforms.
  • Experience with observability tools such as ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Kiali, or Jaeger.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, NoSQL databases, off-heap storage, and distributed caches.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Linux or Unix.
  • Experience working with senior quantitative professionals and technology managers.
  • Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
