Base Salary
$217k - $289k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own high-leverage developer-experience problems end to end, from identifying bottlenecks through organization-wide adoption.
- Set and evolve engineering-wide standards for building, testing, and shipping software.
- Improve monorepo tooling, build-system performance, CI/CD pipelines, test reliability, and framework strategy.
- Define golden paths for AI-assisted and AI-native engineering workflows.
- Drive the technical strategy and incremental migration path for breaking up the monolith, including test isolation and build tooling.
- Partner with product teams to understand workflows and use their feedback as product input.
- Raise engineering quality through design reviews, mentorship, and high-quality shipped work.
Requirements
- Deep experience in developer experience, developer productivity, platform engineering, or building developer tools as a product.
- Experience owning scale-related problems such as monorepo tooling, build systems such as Bazel, CI performance for large test suites, or test framework migrations.
- Ability to define success metrics, measure adoption and developer satisfaction, and apply a product mindset to developer tools.
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI development tooling supported by hands-on work and informed opinions.
- Experience setting technical standards and driving adoption across engineering teams is valued, especially in organizations of 100 or more engineers.
- Python ecosystem depth, GitHub Actions at scale, or experience building coding agents, AI code review, LLM developer workflows, or MCP is a bonus.
