Responsibilities
- Provide second- and third-line production and application support for Java and Spring Boot microservices, APIs, and scheduled batch jobs.
- Manage incident, problem, and change lifecycles, including outage restoration, root-cause analysis, controlled changes, and audit documentation.
- Investigate production defects using application logs, database queries, and API behavior, then deliver and validate low- to medium-complexity code and configuration fixes.
- Monitor application and API health, tune alerting, and manage alerts using AppDynamics, Splunk, and ELK tooling.
- Support reference-data synchronization, data patching, ad-hoc data extraction, and production-like and post-release verification testing.
- Perform service-management and governance activities including vulnerability remediation tracking, certificate management, access reviews, business impact analysis, recovery exercises, and audit support.
- Plan and support releases, role swaps, business-continuity events, handovers, retrospectives, and change-control forums.
- Participate in rota-based on-call and out-of-hours support and drive improvements that reduce manual effort.
Requirements
- Hands-on IT service-management and production-support experience with incident, problem, change management, root-cause analysis, and live business-critical applications.
- Practical Java 8 or above and Spring Boot development or support experience, including code reading, debugging, and controlled fixes using Maven, JUnit, and SQL.
- Understanding of APIs, web and microservices, REST, SOAP, service-oriented architecture, and API integration.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, ideally Oracle and MongoDB, including production troubleshooting queries.
- Working knowledge of AppDynamics, Splunk, ELK, ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence, Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, and Checkmarx.
- Exposure to GCP, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or PCF; GCP or enterprise Kubernetes experience is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and continuous-improvement skills, with the ability to work calmly in dynamic production environments and participate in on-call support.
