Responsibilities
- Design and implement Java and Spring Boot backend services for payments, collections, reconciliation, and other financial flows.
- Build and maintain React and TypeScript frontend interfaces for customers and internal teams.
- Own features end-to-end, including data models, APIs, and user interfaces.
- Model and manage PostgreSQL and Redis for transactional and caching needs.
- Work with event-driven architectures and distributed services using Kafka or similar messaging technology.
- Build and secure APIs for internal and external consumption.
- Use Claude Code, Copilot, and Cursor daily to write, review, and debug code.
- Collaborate with the Pod Lead and Product Manager to translate product needs into technical decisions and proactively identify gaps.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of backend development experience in Java, including Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience shipping production user interfaces with React and TypeScript.
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Experience with Docker, Git, cloud platforms, and CI/CD; AWS is preferred.
- Daily experience using AI coding tools to write, review, and debug software.
- Proactive problem-solving approach and ability to identify missing needs independently.
- Working proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Nice to have experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other message brokers.
- Nice to have experience in financial services, payments, or fintech.
- Nice to have experience with Kubernetes and production observability.
- A side project, open-source contribution, or internal tool that the candidate can discuss is desirable.
