Responsibilities
- Design and oversee scalable CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, digital-twin validation, and zero-downtime network configuration deployments.
- Establish Network-as-Code and GitOps workflows with Git as the source of truth for network state, policy, and infrastructure design.
- Create reusable automation frameworks and playbooks using Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Python, and Bash to eliminate manual network operations.
- Design and optimize software-defined networks and container networking across multi-region cloud and bare-metal environments.
- Act as the Tier 4 technical authority for complex network, routing, underlay, and overlay issues.
- Partner with enterprise designers, SRE leaders, and platform teams to deliver resilient, secure, multi-tenant-isolated network infrastructure.
- Engineer overlay and container networking solutions using VXLAN, OVN, and Project Calico.
- Automate security and traffic-management policies across enterprise firewalls and load balancers.
- Implement Security-as-Code validation gates for security groups, ACLs, and firewall rules before production deployment.
- Build automated validation suites for network health, state, routing tables, and pre- and post-deployment correctness.
- Design telemetry, monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation platforms for performance, security, and capacity issues.
- Drive code-based infrastructure definitions and living technical documentation using NetBox and Git Markdown.
- Mentor engineers, lead design review boards, establish coding standards, and drive cross-functional engineering initiatives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Network Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles focused on large-scale network design, automation, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Expert proficiency with Ansible, Terraform, Python, and network automation libraries such as Netmiko, Nornir, or NAPALM.
- Deep expertise in software-defined networks and overlays, including VXLAN, OVN, and Project Calico.
- Advanced enterprise-scale Kubernetes networking experience, including CNIs, ingress controllers, service mesh, and Kube-Proxy behavior.
- Extensive experience with Cisco Nexus, Arista, Versa SD-WAN, Palo Alto, and Fortinet networking and security platforms.
- Expertise with API-driven application delivery and load balancing using F5 BIG-IP AS3, Cloudflare APIs, and Octavia LBaaS.
- Deep Linux internals and networking knowledge, including network namespaces, virtual interfaces, eBPF, iptables, and kernel-level routing.
- CCIE-level or equivalent mastery of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and EVPN, with knowledge of physical underlays and virtual or container overlays.
- Experience designing and scaling CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions and implementing infrastructure testing.
- Advanced packet analysis and troubleshooting experience using tcpdump, Wireshark, NetFlow, and log aggregation platforms.
- Proven technical leadership through mentoring, design review leadership, and cross-functional engineering initiatives.
- Deep telecommunications experience with VoIP, RTP, SIP peering or trunking, and Session Border Controllers is highly advantageous.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to executive stakeholders.
