Responsibilities
- Develop and review classical ABAP, ABAP Objects, reports, enhancements, interfaces, forms, CDS views, AMDP, and OData services.
- Improve database access using modern Open SQL, code pushdown, HANA-aware programming, CDS associations and annotations, DCL, analytical models, and performance analysis.
- Execute ATC checks, debugging, ST05 traces, SAT/runtime analysis, unit tests, peer reviews, and document findings and corrective actions.
- Support S/4HANA custom-code adaptation, simplification, remediation, regression testing, transport coordination, and release validation.
- Maintain workstream RAG ratings, findings, risks, dependencies, decisions, remediation actions, and evidence traceability.
- Participate in client and systems-integrator workshops, prepare technical summaries, and escalate quality, performance, security, and schedule concerns.
- Use SAP Generative AI, SAP Generative AI Hub, Joule for Developers, and approved AI tools for code explanation, testing, dependency analysis, optimization, migration, and delivery-data analysis.
- Apply human validation, confidentiality, security, bias awareness, traceability, and applicable client and organizational policies to AI-assisted outputs.
- Coach team members, facilitate accountable decisions, and support programme diagnostics, stabilization, turnaround planning, remediation governance, and recovery execution.
Requirements
- At least 7.5 years of relevant experience is required, typically covering 7–10 years of SAP ABAP and enterprise application delivery.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
- Strong SAP ABAP Development for HANA experience, including classical ABAP, ABAP Objects, modern Open SQL, CDS views, AMDP, performance tuning, and SAP S/4HANA custom-code adaptation.
- Experience with RICEFW objects, DDIC, reports, module pools, enhancements, BAdIs, SmartForms or Adobe Forms, IDocs, BAPIs, RFC, ALE, background jobs, locking, and update tasks.
- Experience with ATC, SCI, CVA, Clean ABAP, secure coding, automated testing, transport governance, and controlled exception management.
- Experience with SAP Generative AI, SAP Business AI, SAP Generative AI Hub, prompt engineering, grounding, orchestration, and responsible integration into SAP delivery.
- Knowledge of Joule for Developers, including code understanding, predictive code completion, ABAP Unit test generation, dependency analysis, code optimization, and custom-code migration assistance.
- Demonstrated experience in distressed-programme or workstream diagnostics, stabilization, turnaround planning, remediation governance, and recovery execution.
- Preferred experience with RAP, OData V2/V4, SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP extensibility, SAP Integration Suite, SAP Cloud ALM, and relevant SAP certifications.
- Exposure to programme assurance, quality audits, commercial controls, and multi-vendor systems-integration delivery is desirable.
