- Design and develop scalable, resilient, secure backend systems and services.
- Architect solutions using microservices, event-driven, domain-driven, and distributed-system patterns.
- Lead backend design discussions and make architectural decisions.
- Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs with appropriate versioning strategies.
- Optimize system performance through caching, efficient data handling, and bottleneck analysis.
- Build and support large-scale data processing and high-throughput systems.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, DevOps, and frontend teams for end-to-end delivery.
- Drive code quality and engineering standards through code reviews and mentorship.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, scalability issues, and performance bottlenecks.
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability.
- Troubleshoot critical production issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Adopt AI-assisted development tools and practices to improve productivity and code quality.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing and delivering complex, high-scale distributed systems.
- Strong expertise in one or more of Java with Spring Boot, Node.js, Python, or Go.
- Experience designing and implementing APIs.
- Deep understanding of design patterns, clean architecture, and SOLID principles.
- Strong experience with microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and distributed systems design.
- Experience designing fault-tolerant and highly available systems.
- Expertise with relational databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Expertise with NoSQL databases including MongoDB, Cassandra, and Redis.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging systems.
- Understanding of asynchronous processing and eventual consistency.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of load balancing, caching, performance tuning, and system bottleneck analysis.
