Responsibilities
- Partner with sales teams as the customer-facing technical and domain expert for enterprise accounts.
- Understand customer challenges and deliver tailored product demonstrations and solution presentations.
- Answer product, feature, and technical questions from customers, partners, and internal teams.
- Plan and deliver proofs of concept for complex customer use cases in collaboration with Okta engineering teams.
- Provide product enhancement feedback to product management and share reusable best practices with Solutions Engineers.
- Support executive briefings, conferences, user groups, trade shows, competitive analysis, and subject-matter-expert activities.
- Manage territory activities including pipeline building and execution with sales counterparts.
- Travel approximately 25%.
Requirements
- 5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience and solution selling.
- Experience in a customer-facing presales or professional services role.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly, including through whiteboarding and presentations.
- Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Vercel.
- Experience with at least one network security protocol, such as OAuth, OAuth2, SAML, or LDAP.
- Experience with REST APIs and SDKs.
- Hands-on experience with web development, backend development, or scripting using technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, Java, C#, Node.js, Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Perl.
- Understanding of application security concerns including password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, and XSRF.
- Experience designing, implementing, or managing enterprise Privileged Access Management solutions is preferred.
- Understanding of privileged-account security practices including just-in-time access, session recording, credential vaulting, and secrets management is preferred.
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, LDAP, federation services, Unix/Linux, database security, network security, scripting, DevOps practices, and identity or policy management is preferred.
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field is preferred.
