Base Salary
$180k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead technical pre-sales conversations with account executives to scope and explain LanceDB solutions for customer workflows.
- Conduct technical discovery and architecture design sessions for AI infrastructure, LLM operations, and multimodal data pipeline use cases.
- Build and deliver custom demos and proof-of-concepts for RAG, vector search, and feature engineering problems.
- Translate customer pain points into feedback for engineering and product roadmap priorities.
- Support design partners and early adopters with onboarding and expansion.
- Improve developer experience through documentation, SDK ergonomics, and integration workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, ML Engineering, or AI Infrastructure supporting AI/ML products or platforms.
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow and their integration with infrastructure for training, fine-tuning, and inference.
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems such as Ray, Spark, or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, and Azure, including compute and storage services such as EC2, GKE, and S3.
- Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate complex infrastructure into actionable solutions.
- Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area and willing to travel to customer sites as needed.
- Preferred experience includes feature engineering workflows, vector search pipelines, feature stores, observability, open-source data or streaming frameworks, Python, Rust, technical presentations, enterprise customers, and customer-facing technical work.
