Responsibilities

  • Build and operate an AWS-based MLOps platform supporting model development, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and governance across multiple environments.
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes patterns, multi-environment governance, and operational practices for platform and data teams.
  • Design highly available systems using multi-Availability Zone patterns, capacity planning, incident readiness, and rollback approaches.
  • Establish observability standards covering metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, and service-level objectives.
  • Implement cloud and Kubernetes security controls, including IAM, RBAC, secrets management, network policies, and vulnerability management.
  • Build and operate streaming pipelines using Apache Kafka and Apache Flink.
  • Use approved AI-assisted software development tools responsibly for coding, review, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation, with validation for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with engineering, data, and risk partners to standardize practices and improve reliability and developer experience.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in platform engineering, software engineering, Java, or MLOps roles.
  • Hands-on experience building and operating production platforms on AWS.
  • Strong Kubernetes experience, including Amazon EKS, Helm or Kustomize, ingress, autoscaling, and workload scheduling.
  • Strong Terraform experience for repeatable environment provisioning and controlled change management.
  • Experience implementing security controls for cloud and Kubernetes platforms, including IAM, RBAC, secrets, network policies, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience delivering and operating resilient, highly available systems, including on-call readiness, incident response, and postmortems.
  • Strong observability experience with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, and SLOs.
  • Experience building and operating Apache Kafka and Apache Flink streaming pipelines.
  • Programming or scripting proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or Go, plus CI/CD automation experience.
  • Experience leading responsible adoption of approved AI-assisted development tools and coaching engineers on safe, compliant use.
  • Preferred qualifications include GPU workloads on Kubernetes, model registries, experiment tracking, feature stores, artifact management, service mesh, policy as code, container supply-chain security, data lake or warehouse integration, data quality monitoring, and regulated-environment experience.
