Senior Backend Engineer, Payments

Responsibilities
- Design and lead migrations from legacy systems to distributed payments services.
- Build and maintain integrations with payment processors and banking rails.
- Partner with Product, Compliance, and Design to deliver regulated financial features.
- Take ownership of production on-call for money-movement systems.
- Mentor engineers and onboard new hires.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure tight integration of payments systems.
Requirements
- Senior-level backend engineering experience in payments or fintech.
- Proven track record of leading migrations to distributed services without disruption.
- Experience shipping regulated financial features like KYC/EDD and fraud checks.
- Comfortable owning production on-call for critical money-movement systems.
- Experience mentoring and driving team processes.
- Experience in crypto or high-growth regulated fintech environments is a plus.
- Experience deploying systems in cloud environments and using containers is a plus.
