Responsibilities
- Integrate HCL Commerce with required systems and services.
- Design and maintain clean, usable APIs for the frontend.
- Own application functionality, performance, scalability, and backend system reliability.
- Work with HCL Commerce REST Client, Catalogue, Payments, and Member modules.
- Contribute to the React Adapter layer and GraphQL-driven headless commerce frontend.
- Integrate with legacy and back-office systems such as ERP, CRM, and BI platforms.
- Guide technical direction during the migration from WebSphere Commerce v8 to HCL Commerce v9.
- Apply API design, caching, refactoring, object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and software design patterns.
- Champion effective unit, integration, and API testing.
- Support performance tuning for large-scale web applications.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience with HCL Commerce.
- Demonstrable experience with the REST Client, Catalogue, Payments, and Member modules of WebSphere Commerce/HCL Commerce.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming paradigms, SOLID principles, and software design patterns.
- Knowledge of relational database systems, SQL, and query tuning or optimization, ideally with Oracle.
- Ability to explain good REST API design, caching, and refactoring considerations.
- Experience integrating with back-office systems such as ERP, CRM, or BI platforms is preferred.
- Experience with GraphQL, Apollo Client, Apollo Server, and TypeScript is preferred.
- Experience with performance tuning of large-scale web applications is beneficial.
- Knowledge of DevOps, infrastructure as code, and provisioning tools is a bonus.
