Base Salary
$276k - $294k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the technical roadmap for scalable data pipeline capabilities.
- Lead the design and implementation of data ingestion, transformation, and distribution pipelines.
- Normalize disparate internal and external data sources into formats optimized for AI training and research.
- Collaborate with robotics, ML engineering, research, and data governance teams.
- Establish observability, alerting, monitoring, reliability, and service-level practices for pipelines.
- Improve pipeline latency, scalability, bottleneck reduction, and failure recovery.
- Mentor engineering talent and contribute to hiring and onboarding.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience focused on scalable, complex data pipelines.
- At least 3+ years leading or architecting data engineering projects.
- Proven technical leadership in pipeline engineering or a related domain.
- Expertise with modern data pipeline architectures and DAG-based orchestration tools such as Airflow, Flyte, or Ray.
- Strong understanding of data engineering practices, distributed processing frameworks, and pipeline optimization.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for interdisciplinary work.
- Track record of mentorship and talent development.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with robotics or autonomous-vehicle sensor data pipelines is desirable.
- Familiarity with third-party dataset ingestion and transformation is desirable.
- Understanding of data governance and compliance frameworks such as GDPR, TISAX, or ASPICE is desirable.
- Hands-on experience integrating observability and monitoring solutions is desirable.
