Base Salary
$207k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive technical decision-making, mentor engineers, and grow team capability
- Champion event-driven architecture adoption and build organizational consensus
- Identify applications for organizational data and create solutions aligned with business needs
- Design and implement managed platforms for delivering data to teams
- Develop stream-processing architecture with a focus on scalability and reliability
- Improve the performance, security, reliability, and scalability of data platforms and related services
- Participate in the team’s on-call rotation
- Establish data-access and storage guidelines and guardrails for stakeholder teams
- Ensure compliance with data-protection regulations
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in software or infrastructure engineering
- Understanding of data consistency and concurrency models, data modeling, and data-management guidelines
- Familiarity with distributed NewSQL datastores such as CockroachDB, TiDB, YDB, and Yugabyte
- Familiarity with stream-processing tools such as NATS and Kafka
- Experience designing and operating distributed data systems at scale
- Familiarity with Kubernetes for event-driven or stateful orchestration
- Interest or experience contributing to a Kubernetes operator for managing data systems
- Knowledge of Linux distributions, shell scripting, and Linux storage and networking stacks
- Production-level proficiency in Go or Python
- Interest in contributing to open source
