Base Salary
$180k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own complex features end to end, from system architecture and backend services through production delivery and user-facing interactions.
- Architect and implement scalable AI agent and backend systems for high-volume, real-time operational workloads.
- Integrate LLM and generative AI components through fine-tuning, prompt orchestration, retrieval pipelines, and evaluation loops.
- Design event streams, message queues, job orchestration, and other robust data flows for SOC/NOC capabilities.
- Build real-time dashboards, streaming data visualizations, and multi-user collaboration experiences.
- Define contracts between AI services, backend APIs, and frontend clients, including structured streaming responses, redaction, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop review.
- Partner with AI/ML, product, design, and frontend teams to productionize models, optimize inference, and deliver intuitive user interfaces.
- Lead technical reviews and help establish coding standards and architectural patterns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years, master’s degree with 3+ years, or PhD with 0+ years of experience in backend or full-stack systems for high-availability, security-sensitive environments.
- Proven experience shipping data-intensive and AI-enhanced applications at scale and owning features from architecture through production.
- Proficiency with at least one modern backend language or runtime such as Python or Go and associated frameworks.
- Strong experience designing APIs and integrating real-time or event-driven systems, with knowledge of databases, storage paradigms, authentication, authorization, session management, distributed systems, scalability, and observability.
- Hands-on experience building or integrating production AI systems, with familiarity with multi-agent systems, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, evaluation, guardrails, and model fine-tuning workflows.
- Preferred experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, React or an equivalent component framework, real-time dashboards, visualization, and streaming user experiences.
- Preferred experience with event-driven architectures, message queues, background job orchestration, graph or time-series data modeling, real-time collaboration systems, SOC/NOC workflows, incident management, observability pipelines, or open-source AI/ML and backend projects.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in distributed and ambiguous environments.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
