Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality frontend web applications and reusable components.
- Build real-time conversational experiences supporting streaming responses, rich interactive content, transitions, handoffs, errors, and long-running operations.
- Define frontend architecture, reusable patterns, APIs, events, data contracts, configuration capabilities, and interaction patterns with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Optimize frontend applications for performance, responsiveness, scalability, reliability, accessibility, browser and device compatibility, privacy, security, and inclusive design.
- Implement analytics, telemetry, monitoring, logging, and observability, and use operational data to improve user experiences.
- Lead technical design discussions and complex frontend initiatives from concept through deployment and continuous improvement.
- Conduct code and design reviews, establish engineering standards, troubleshoot production issues, and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant frontend development experience.
- Deep proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design, browser technologies, frontend architecture, component design, state management, performance, and maintainability.
- Experience building complex production web applications, reusable frontend components or libraries, real-time or event-driven experiences, and integrations with RESTful APIs and distributed backend systems.
- Experience with automated frontend testing, performance and scalability, production support, accessibility, browser compatibility, frontend security, source control, code reviews, and observability.
- Ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives, provide technical guidance and mentorship, solve ambiguous problems, and influence technical decisions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across Product, UX, frontend, backend, ML, and platform teams.
- Working understanding of Agile development methodologies and frameworks.
