Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and implementation of a next-generation durable execution platform.
- Design highly available distributed systems targeting 5–6 nines of availability, including distributed state management, tail latency, and edge-case handling.
- Integrate AI/ML models for predictive scaling, bottleneck detection, intelligent error recovery, and other system automation.
- Solve complex distributed locking, timer, deterministic execution, and massive-traffic challenges.
- Collaborate with product teams to provide infrastructure aligned with business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or a closely related field.
- At least 8 years of backend software development experience.
- Proficiency in Java and the Spring Framework.
- Experience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining highly available distributed systems.
- Preferred qualifications include 12+ years of software development experience and expertise in global-scale backend infrastructure.
- Preferred experience includes 5–6 nines availability, mission-critical distributed systems, Python, concurrency and memory management, AI/ML system automation, Temporal or Cadence, Kubernetes, containerization, Cassandra, TiDB, distributed tracing, and advanced telemetry.
