Responsibilities
- Scope technical solutions for customer operational problems with delivery leaders.
- Identify workflow optimizations and build stable, scalable solutions from ambiguous requirements.
- Design and implement AI-powered workflows using LLMs, embedding models, retrieval systems, and automation tools.
- Translate inconsistent data and latency requirements into effective engineering architectures.
- Iterate on solutions using feedback from operators and clients.
- Build reusable tooling and infrastructure to accelerate future deployments.
- Own projects end-to-end from scoping through deployment while engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide customer on-call support when situations arise and travel for on-site client engagements as needed.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience building data, ML, or backend systems.
- Deep proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI, Pinecone, and related ecosystems.
- Experience with full-stack and API-based deployment patterns using Docker, FastAPI, Kubernetes, GCP, and AWS.
- Experience with workflow orchestration libraries, Kafka or other pub/sub systems, and schema governance.
- Expertise in data governance and operations, including Unity Catalog, policy management, cluster and job orchestration, data contracts, quality enforcement, Delta/ETL pipelines, and replay processes.
- Strong product and system design judgment with the ability to translate business needs into technical architecture.
- Experience building usable systems from messy data and ambiguous requirements.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to work on-call for customers, travel for client engagements, and work from the office a few days per week as needed.
