Responsibilities
- Scope and lead large technical projects that form foundational pillars of Financial Data Management Infrastructure.
- Set and arbitrate technical and architectural decisions across projects and initiatives.
- Contribute directly to core interface design and write production code.
- Advise Stripe leadership on technical considerations related to the future of financial data management, including blockchain technologies.
- Mentor engineers and help develop the next generation of technical leaders.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience with system architecture and designing distributed systems that handle large amounts of data.
- Prior experience as a Staff, Principal, or Distinguished Engineer.
- Deep experience building custom solutions with Hadoop, Spark, Presto, Iceberg, and Airflow.
- Hands-on experience building products based on modern microservices architectures.
- Experience serving as a technical lead for an engineering team and demonstrating broad technical leadership.
- Experience owning the technical roadmap for a business area.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, judgment, and mentoring abilities.
- Domain expertise in accounting or financial management is preferred but not required.
