Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain secure and scalable software solutions and digital applications for engineering analysis.
- Develop automation workflows and tools that improve engineering efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- Develop and integrate AI-enabled capabilities, including numerical AI solutions and agentic AI workflows.
- Support multidisciplinary analysis solutions and digital engineering capabilities.
- Implement software development, DevOps, CI/CD, testing, and quality practices.
- Ensure solutions meet security, export control, data governance, auditability, and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to product vision, roadmap planning, prioritisation, sprint activities, and MVP development.
- Provide technical oversight, governance, assurance, and peer review of software developed across the engineering organisation.
- Collaborate with analysis engineers, data scientists, AI specialists, Digital Twin teams, software platform teams, architects, and external partners.
- Support stakeholder engagement, demonstrations, adoption activities, and communication of complex technical concepts.
- Coach and mentor colleagues involved in software development activities.
Requirements
- Strong experience developing software solutions for engineering or scientific applications.
- Experience with Python and similar development technologies.
- Experience designing secure, scalable software applications and workflows.
- Experience implementing DevOps, CI/CD, and software testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of software architecture and modern engineering development practices.
- Experience developing AI-enabled tools, automation solutions, or data-driven applications.
- Understanding of engineering analysis workflows, numerical methods, verification, validation, and uncertainty quantification.
- Appreciation of quality management approaches for engineering software and analytical tools.
- Experience contributing to product roadmaps, prioritisation, and agile delivery approaches.
- Ability to translate user requirements into effective software solutions and balance technical quality with business value and user adoption.
- Understanding of cloud, AI, and enterprise digital technologies.
- Experience reviewing and assuring technical outputs produced by others, with knowledge of software governance, configuration management, and quality assurance.
- Ability to establish robust software development standards and apply secure-by-design and compliance-first principles.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across multidisciplinary engineering and digital teams.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant certifications in Azure, Cloud Architecture, DevOps, Security, or Agile methodologies are advantageous.
- Experience in high-integrity or highly regulated industries is advantageous.
