Base Salary
$150k - $284k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and scale Python and pytest automated test libraries running on Linux/Ubuntu.
- Validate multi-channel audio routing, DSP pipelines, AVAS pitch and frequency modulation, hands-free calling, media playback, amplifiers, diagnostics, clipping, and fault handling.
- Implement signal-processing algorithms for frequency response, channel separation, ducking, mixing, dynamic gain control, and other audio metrics.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain hardware-in-the-loop audio benches, including signal routing, gain staging, and electrical isolation.
- Integrate audio test suites into automated build and regression pipelines.
- Work with multi-channel audio interfaces, line-output converters, data acquisition equipment, microphones, speakers, and automotive audio systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Audio Engineering, Acoustics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience building automated test frameworks in Python using pytest.
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of digital signal processing using NumPy, SciPy, sounddevice, and PyAudio.
- Hands-on experience with multi-channel audio interfaces, line-output converters, microphone and speaker calibration, and gain staging.
- Deep familiarity with frequency and FFT spectral analysis, THD/THD+N, dynamic range, SNR, crosstalk/isolation, RMS, loudness, and audio ducking ratios.
- Familiarity with AVAS acoustic safety regulations including UN ECE R138 and FMVSS 141.
- Preferred experience with Linux/Ubuntu audio routing using ALSA, PulseAudio, or PipeWire; CAN, CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet, Analog, or A2B buses; automotive IVI systems such as Android Automotive OS, QNX, or Automotive Grade Linux; speech-quality standards such as PESQ, POLQA, and 3GPP/ITU-T; and professional audio instruments from Audio Precision, SoundCheck/Listen Inc., or Rohde & Schwarz.
