Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Drive architectural decisions, data models, API contracts, and long-term scalability improvements.
- Partner with Product, Operations, and engineering teams to scope and deliver complex logistics features.
- Promote backend testing, security, code maintainability, and deployment best practices.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code and system design reviews, and foster engineering excellence.
- Troubleshoot production failures, monitor service health, and lead blameless post-mortems.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong coding ability in one or more of Go, Java, Python, or C++.
- Experience building and scaling microservices and distributed systems integrated with APIs.
- Deep understanding of system performance, API design, and data modeling.
- Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end backend testing.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms and their practical application.
- Preferred experience with MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
- Preferred experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers.
- Knowledge of the logistics and transportation industry is preferred.
